About The Author
Born September 9, 1944, the sixth child of six girls and five boys to the parents of sharecroppers in the rural community of Salvia, Ky. After graduating from high school, I received an associate degree in business administration and general bookkeeping from a business college. Enlisting in the military in 1963, I became a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division based in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Our unit was deployed in July of 1965 to Vietnam and I was on the battlefield until June 1966, ending my tour, then returned home after being discharged.
After moving to Louisville, Kentucky, for a better employment, by divine design I met, fell in love, and married the missing link in my life. Since 1968, she has been my inspiration, my partner, and my best friend. God blessed our union with our daughter, Venice, and son, Causten Jr.. Our added blessings were, to raise as our own, two of her brothers, Dimitric and Aaron, including the nurturing of thirteen godchildren. Continued blessings granted us four grandchildren.
The book is written solely because of and through the encouragement of my wife. When the effects of the war weighed heavy on me, she was there. As God began to reveal Himself more clearly, I answered His call. As a minister and elder ordained by Pastor Antoyne Green, I am still reaching to attain all that God has prepared.
To you who may read this, there is nothing greater than having a virtuous woman of God to share your innermost feelings. She is the missing part of me. She is my missing rib. She is my silent heart. The deepest thoughts of one’s mind can never be heard and expressed only to the closest connection of one’s heart.
